Why Local SEO?
Local SEO is something that is often overlooked. Many companies offering SEO Services seem to charge the same rates as they do for National SEO, which involves optimising for large areas instead of focusing on local markets.
We are here to change that!
Here are 3 great reasons why you should optimise for local keywords ASAP:
- It gives you an advantage over your competitors that is quick to deploy and very cost effective.
- You can dominate the local market place while increasing your local brand awareness.

What is Twitter?
With over six million global users, Twitter has hit the online social community by storm. Despite its short life, it now ranks it now ranks (as of February 2009) as the third most used social network website, after Facebook and MySpace.
Created in 2006 by Jack Dorsey, Twitter is a free “micro-blogging” website that allows people to stay connected all the time. It lets users send and read other users’ updates – which are known as ‘tweets’. Tweets are 140 characters at most, allowing for pithy, succinct messages. Your tweets will be read by those who have chosen to follow them – known as ‘followers’.
You can sign up by visiting http://www.twitter.com. Once you’ve signed up, you can send a link to your friends to tell them you’ve got an account.
Putting your real information will ensure that you interact with other real people. And, if you want to make the service even more open and interactive – as opposed to just feeding your tweets to your closest friends or followers – you can uncheck ‘protect my updates’ in the settings tab. That way everyone will be updated.
Entering and sending tweets is easy. You type your tweet in the entry window at the top of the twitter home page and click ‘update’. That’s it.
Did you know you can also access Twitter offline? Sending updates to Twitter while you’re away from your computer can make things even more fun. No matter where you are, your followers will receive your tweets – and if they have enabled their mobile phones, you can also receive theirs.
Go to go to your ‘settings’ tab and click on ‘devices’ to register your mobile phone. And, if you need some additional help, or information on how to register other devices, just click here: http://twitterhelp.blogspot.com/search/label/Devices
What about adding friends? When logged into Twitter, click on the link ‘Find People’ at the top of the page. Here you’ll see four options: ‘Find on Twitter’, ‘Find on other Networks’, ‘Invite by email’ and ‘Suggested Users’. You’ll also see a search box headed with the question: ‘Who are you looking for?’ Enter the username, first or last name of your former classmates, lost friends and relatives or business associates – and anyone who already has a Twitter account should appear in the results. Once you add someone as your friend, you will see their tweets, if their profile is public. Private profiles will need a confirmation before you can start viewing the tweets.
A tip for growing your Twitter following is to see who your friends are following: check the sidebar to the right of their profile page. You’ll probably find some interesting individuals there. Click to follow them - and who knows? - they may even follow you back.
You’ll also notice a number of stats on your profile page. These are for your followers and your friends (the people you follow). The numbers can be revealing: You may notice that celebrities and public figures have many more followers than friends, and that those with more friends than followers prefer to observe. And a balanced ratio between friends and followers may indicate an individual who prizes interaction and relationship-building.
Twittering is great fun. So why not sign up now and see what your friends are doing? Make use of the many Twitter tools for added excitement. And be sure to post tweets yourself, so that you can make it an interactive experience for all. Enjoy.
